Approach
One of the key benefits of an external review is the rigour and comprehensiveness with which it is conducted. At Baker & Baptist our approach consists of:
systematic and confidential gathering of inputs from a variety of perspectives on how the board is performing
review of constitutions, charters, policies and other documentation
a detailed report presenting our analysis of the findings, providing a catalyst for board debate
practical recommendations to assist the chairman and board in implementing change where appropriate.
We also recognise that clients may have differing requirements, so our methodologies are tailored to suit the individual board. A typical review will include some or all of the following:
interviews with board directors and senior management
peer review questionnaires
review of board and committee structure, papers and documentation
board skills audit
observation of board and/or committee meetings
written reports with recommendations
personal presentation of findings
facilitation of action planning
on-going support and follow up
